Why stability is more important than ever for light towers
Extreme weather is on the rise. Storms are becoming more frequent and more powerful than before. For light towers this means one thing: stability is crucial. If a light tower topples, the consequences are not only financial. It concerns safety, liability and continuity of operations. Especially in places where temporary lighting is essential, such as construction sites, festivals, infrastructure projects or parking lots, you do not want to take any chances.
Four target groups, one concern: prevent toppling
Each sector has its own requirements, but stability is paramount everywhere.
-
Builders seek robust equipment that can take a hit.
-
Infrastructure managers want a tower that can be deployed quickly and stays upright even in strong winds.
-
Festival organizers want safety for their visitors without obstacles on the ground.
-
Parking lot operators look for a compact tower that is easy to transport without compromising on sturdiness.
In all these cases, an unstable tower is not an option.
What makes SiriusMast extra safe
Tested against hurricane‑force winds
At SiriusMast we test our light towers for maximum wind load. The wind load report shows that our models remain stable even at wind speeds of 96 km/h (Beaufort 12, hurricane strength), depending on configuration and ballast.
For example, a Sirius PRO with 520 kg ballast can withstand wind speeds up to 96 km/h without toppling over.
Even without stabilizers the towers remain resistant to stormy conditions up to 85 km/h, thanks to the extra heavy ballast.
TÜV‑certified
Where many manufacturers settle for basic safety, we go a step further. Our light towers are tested according to strict TÜV standards, an international quality and safety standard. This is not mandatory in our industry, but we do it anyway. Because we believe safety should always come first.
Ballast and stabilizers: designed for security
We use ballast that is 3.5 times heavier than the legal minimum. That ensures the towers remain stable even without stabilizers. In some situations, such as festivals, stabilizers may be impractical. But whenever extra security is needed, stabilizers provide even more grip and balance.
Ready for any terrain, any season
Whether you are working in the mud of a construction site, on the grass field of a festival or on a remote parking lot, Sirius light towers stay upright. Wind‑resistant, stable and certified.
